It adopted the regulations provided by the original Emergency Powers (Defence) Act, 1939 of 24th August 1939 with a provision to extending them. The Order S.R. & O. 1940/781 (May 22) included the addition of regulation 58A, the hinge-pin of all further man-power control. |
