| Description | A line infantry regiment of the British Army in continuous existence for 283 years. It was known as the 7th Regiment of Foot until 1881. It served in many wars including the Second Boer War, WW1 and WW2. In 1968 it was amalgamated with the other regiments of fusiliers to form a new regiment, the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. |
