Organisation: 4th Parachute Brigade
Name 4th Parachute Brigade
Description A parachute infantry brigade of the British Army during WW2 assigned to the 1st Airborne Division and composed of the 10th, 11th and 156th Parachute Battalions. It saw action in Sept 1943, during Operation Slapstick, an amphibious landing at the port of Taranto and later formed part of the second day's landings at the Battle of Arnhem but suffered very heavy losses before reaching Oosterbeek and was later evacuated.
