Description A yachtsman and British Arctic explorer, best known for serving as the solo meteorologist of the 'Icecap Station', located in the interior of Greenland in 1930–1931. During WW2 he was an officer in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, seconded to No. 14 (Arctic) Commando.
